I’m sure I can’t be the only one, but lately, I feel like America is going back in time. Something that surprises me a lot is that most people think that the concept of time has been around forever, but that is not the case. The first recorded concept of time that we know of was found in artifacts from the Paleolithic era about 6,000 years ago. The first concept of a clock that we have discovered was something called a water clock that was used by the ancient Egyptians back in 1417-1379 BC, during the reign of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
The concept of time in Europe began in 1275. Time helps us keep a calendar and can even help us predict the future in a certain way. Time is a tool that can be used to make us more powerful if we use it correctly. I say correctly because as someone who studies history, I feel like I’ve been noticing America turning back in time in many ways. Our democracy is supposed to learn from its past mistakes and go forward in time, not backward. I may be writing to a fairly small audience and this is a pretty small blog, but sometimes, less really is so much more.
