Solving The Debt Ceiling Crisis
Everyone is wondering right now, how can we solve the debt ceiling problem? I may not be a politician or businessman but I do know something about common sense, and to me, this has a simple solution: have the 1% pay their fair share of taxes, make sure they’re not hiding money in offshore accounts, and ask all billionaires to give a certain portion of their wealth. Any billionaires who did that would still be billionaires but also viewed as heroes for helping out their country. Another example of a solution would be to look at someone like Elon Musk. Let’s say that instead of buying Twitter for $44 billion dollars, Musk had put that money towards the national debt crisis.
I know that I’m not the only one who thinks this plan makes sense. Maybe it’s because people with learning differences have the superpower to think differently. But not enough diversity is in these conversations, and that’s why the government isn’t coming up with these solutions. Biden needs to sit down with Congress and the top billionaires in this country and make some serious changes. The last thought that I can’t stop thinking about while observing this whole mess is; how are we the richest country in the world, but we have more debt than nearly every other country? How can Congress claim to be bipartisan, but not put its country first?
