Whether you like your mother or not, you would not be here to experience the things you do without your mother. There’s obviously a little help from Dad as well, but ever since the first family walked the soil of this earth, mothers have always done most of the work and sometimes too much. We can’t choose the families that we are born into, and I say that because the minute that we are born and the minute our mothers see us for the first time, that may be the happiest moment in their lives. When it comes to loving your child, mothers are the most stubborn creatures on the planet. Babies, kids, and teenagers can yell, kick, and scream, but our mothers will love us unconditionally. If I have learned anything about the arduous career of being a mother, it is that all they really want for us is to show a little appreciation back to them because they have taken care of us for 18 years, if not more. Another thing that I have learned is that we will always be their babies to them, no matter how old we get. Happy Mother’s Day to all those wonderful mothers out there and especially to my mother. I love you very much, Mom. Thank you for taking care of me and making sure that I grow up and get to experience life just the way you and Dad did.

"Some of us may be less talented, but we all have the opportunity to serve and to open people's hearts and minds in our smaller orbits," - President Barack Obama, Medal of Freedom ceremony, Nov. 20, 2013 for 16 recipients including Ben Bradlee
Very few people are as talented as your Mom and Dad. President Obama and your family would be proud of you for serving America, too.
