Dear RFK Jr., I Highly Disagree
It actually does not shock me that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. would say that people with autism ruin families and will never be able to do anything. There is a reason why autism is called “being on the spectrum,” because there is such a wide range of degrees of the syndrome. I am not on the spectrum myself. However, researchers have found a link between my syndrome, Velo Cardeo Facial Syndrome, and autism. My parents told me that the doctors told my parents the exact same thing that RFK, Jr. is saying today, but forty years ago. There are some people who have a severe case of autism, and some you may not notice. I have been married and am happily married to my second wife and am a happy parent to my step daughter, I have graduated highschool and received awards including a math award, I have written a memoir, I can go through an airport by myself, I can pay bills by myself, I can cook, if I have to; I can drive, I played little league baseball and, received two trophies in tennis, I got a letter varsity jacket for soccer, I have dated before I got married, and I have written poetry before. This is just another reason why I created www.includedu.com; so everybody is included.
