Ben Bradlee and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

My father was the most humble and modest person I have ever met in my life, and he never told me what I am about to tell you. After my dad passed in 2014, as sad as I was, I was extremely interested in all the articles and videos on YouTube that were coming out about him. I only knew what I knew about him from being his son, his biography, and what was on the internet, but nothing prepared me for what I would find out about my dad. One day, I was on YouTube trying to find old videos and interviews with my dad, and I couldn’t believe what I found. This interview was entitled Ben Bradlee talks politics with Martin Luther King Jr. The video is 1:45 seconds, but I don’t care how short it is. I remember telling my mother what I found, and she couldn’t even believe it. My dad didn’t even tell his own wife. I don’t think that he was hiding the fact that he interviewed Martin Luther King. He may have forgotten, or he just thought he was doing his job and didn’t turn it into a big deal. Happy Martin Luther King Day, and I hope you like the video!
